DENVER — A 34-year-old achieved homeownership this week by setting a photograph of a house as her phone wallpaper.
Alex Turner said the property, a four-bedroom colonial with three bathrooms and a finished basement, requires no monthly payment, no insurance and no maintenance.
“It has really good light,” Turner said.
The house was located during a routine evening browsing session that Turner described as research.
“I look at it every day,” she said. “That's basically living there.”
The listing has been active for six weeks. Turner has viewed it 118 times and has not contacted the agent.
Financial advisers note that this form of ownership carries no equity but also no closing costs, no property tax and no risk of a roof.
Turner said she plans to upgrade to a larger wallpaper in the spring.
She has already saved three.
