KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An office worker reported an immediate sense of productivity Tuesday afternoon after opening a spreadsheet.
Laura Pham, 37, said the feeling arrived within seconds of the file loading and persisted for approximately twenty minutes.
During that period, Pham scrolled to row 214, widened a column, and returned to the top.
No cells were changed.
“I was in it,” Pham said. “I was really in the numbers.”
Colleagues confirmed that Pham appeared focused and was not interrupted, in accordance with an informal office convention regarding open spreadsheets.
Pham later applied a filter, removed it, and adjusted the zoom level to 90 percent.
The document remained open for the remainder of the afternoon and was closed without saving.
Pham described the session as a good start.
