MIAMI — A trader who declared the end of the market Tuesday evening announced Wednesday morning that the market had returned.

The first post, published at 11:41 p.m., read “it's over.” The second, published at 1:52 p.m. the following day, read “we are so back.”

Between the two posts, the asset in question moved 3.1 percent, a figure analysts described as within a normal daily range.

“The structure completely changed,” the trader said.

“Anyone who didn't see it wasn't paying attention,” he added.

A review of the account shows the market has ended nine times this year and returned nine times.

The average interval between endings and returns is fourteen hours.

The trader said he does not consider the posts contradictory, describing them as reflections of conditions at the time.

A third post, published Thursday, read “interesting price action here.”
